Along with highly market competition and the strict emissions regulation of motorcycle industry, company was compelled to continually improve engine. It is very hard for the traditional design models to meet the requirements of market. Improve on engine performance from combustion process becomes an important methods of product development.To improve engine performance, including power, emissions and noise. Improve power is not the most important. With the emission regulations being increasingly stricter, improving combustion for reducing exhaust emissions is a top research. The test and control of combustion process are cores of the motorcycle engine work process. Through research and analysis of combustion work process, it is foundations to carry out research on performance, emissions, noise control and so on. Which how to influence engine combustion process and improve on Engine performance.In the research process, AVL INDISMART 611 combustion analyzer,AVL DynoRoad 102/12SL AC drive and HORIBA 7100D emission test system were used to test and research. Based on combustion test methods, measuring instantaneous cylinder pressure, the intake pressure and exhaust pressure, and engine crank angle rotational speed and so on. Through post-process these test data, analyzing some important combustion natural parameter, such as diagram of work, indicate mean effective pressure, the maximum of combustion pressure and crank angle position, fluctuation of intake and exhaust pressure, combustion knock intensity, rate of combustion heat release, the accumulative of combustion heat release and so on.Faced with a strict market demand, Loncin carry out quality improvement of engine. This project described the combustion process and its influencing factors. The engine performance and emissions optimization will come true by changing valve timing, ignition systems, intake and exhaust systems, and so on. Through the above research work, Loncin have full improve quality of engine,and reduce emissions,Fuel consumption,heat load.
