The combined diesel or gas turbine (CODOG) power plant balances the contradiction between great power requirement in high-speed condition and economic requirement in cruise condition. The CODOG power plants are highly valued by navies and have been applied in warship widely.Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation is an experimental method and technical tool in the research and development of power plant control system. It owns higher engineering value than pure digital simulation. Moreover, it takes lower risk and cost than real system experiments. Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation can effectively save the time of project development and improve the design quality.Based on physical components such as Synchronized-Self-Shift clutch, Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation system of CODOG plant is designed and built to investigate the characteristic of CODOG power plant. The main work is listed as below:(1) Using non-linear modular modeling approach, the module library including compressor module, combustion module, turbine module, rotor module and load module has been built on LabVIEW platform. The dynamic simulation model of marine 3-shaft gas turbine engine was established.(2) The software platform of Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation system and PXI measurement & control system was developed. Software platform is composed of main control panel, man-machine interface, gas turbine module, data communication interface, data storage module. PXI chassis adjusts the motor revolution speed by frequency converter through output channel of PXI-6229 board, and receives signals from dynamometer through serial port.(3) The closed-loop system with hardware parts and software parts was debugged, and the real-time performance of the simulation model was verified. This will provide reference for the Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation testing.(4) The dynamic responses of the CODOG system were investigated with disturbances from model and physical components. The simulation on switching process of CODOG power plant was performed, it will provide guidance for dynamic characteristics study and control system test of CODOG power plant.Test results show that the design of CODOG Hardware-in-the-loop simulation system is feasible; it can meet the expected requirements. This can provide a simulation platform for further study of CODOG dynamic characteristics, and also a useful technical tool for the verification and testing of control system. |
