With the coming up of worldwide topic of sustainable development, energy saving gradually becomes extremely important and earns people's focused attention. One of the professionals'research field is that how to effectively reduce the building energy consumption and meet the needs of people's live condition, since building plays a valuable role in energy consuming and people's living environment.Tower cooling is a kind of energy saving technology for directly or indirectly using the cooling water from the cooling tower without chiller's operation, when the ambient temperature is relatively low and suitable for its application.Based on those researches and applications achieved at home and abroad, this paper gives an introduction to the types and features of cooling tower system, briefly analyzes the device characteristics of its constituent part like cooling tower, plate-type heat exchanger and air conditioning terminal equipment. It also discusses the important influencing factors of the system, which are the ambient wet-bulb temperature and building cooling load. At the same time, new conceptions of switched temperature as well as annual operation hours have been introduced. Then, this paper collects and counts the annual operation hours when the switched temperature differs and within off-seasons and winter, which is the typical condition of cooling tower system.At last, with the utilization of the indirect cooling tower system in one of Wuhan's shopping mall and telecommunications room, the paper analyzes and discusses its feasibility, energy conservation and economy. And finally an important conclusion has been achieved that the cooling tower system is a good technology for building energy saving, which gives the theoretical support to its application in Wuhan. |
