As is low-cost, reliable and easy to apply, the base isolation technology has been widely used in various types of practical engineering. However, this technology is still hard to promote the use much more in high-rise buildings by the lack of tensile strength of rubber bearings. To solve the tensile-resistant problem of bearings in high-rise isolated buildings, two tensile-resistant bearings are designed and their performances in a high-rise isolated building are analyzed in this thesis.Firstly, according to the solution to the tensile-resistant problem of bearings and the method of using tensile-resistant bearings, two tensile-resistant bearings are designed to meet the requirements of horizontal isolation and vertical tension, which are the rigid tensile-resistant bearing and the flexible tensile-resistant bearing. The performance characteristics, components and parameters design theories of the two tensile-resistant bearings have been discussed. Secondly, the analysis key points of the high-rise isolated buildings, the finite element analysis methods of isolated building based on the ETABS software and the unit simulations of various structure elements are proposed. In order to simulate the vertical stiffness of the bearings realistically, the bearings are needed to be simulated by several units. Finally, according to an example of a high-rise isolated building with several bearings in tension, some rigid tensile-resistant bearings and some flexible tensile-resistant bearings are respectively used in the isolation layer. The results of isolation analysis show that the use of the tensile-resistant bearings can both achieve good isolation effect and solve the tensile-resistant problem of bearings in that high-rise isolated building.Through analysis, this thesis shows that the use of the rigid tensile-resistant bearing and the flexible tensile-resistant bearing can solve some tensile-resistant problems of bearings in high-rise isolated buildings, which can also be used as a reference of the practical application and the theoretical research of the tensile-resistant bearings.
