With the rapid development of our civil aviation, the number of aircrafts is increasing, the scales and paces of airport construction are becoming bigger and bigger. However, at this moment, the airport's location determining, navigation equipments installing and obstacles evaluating are still remaining in the stage of spot measuring and paper drafting. Yet airports, navigation equipments and obstacles are denoted in the electronic map, the 2-dimensional way is adopted. In this way, the targets cannot be expressed simply and directly, as well as it needs heavy workload. In this paper, Google Earth (GE) is applied as a platform to solve the problem above. The results of flight procedures designing is showed in the 3-dimensional visual way. At present, as the domestic research of Google Earth (GE) applying in this field is rare, the author do not have much experience to reference. Some explorative research is done in a certain difficulty level.This paper is divided into three parts:The first part compared several features of the software platform. It focused on the function of Google Earth and KML file support for graphic elements, then analyzed the relationship between graphic elements and chart elements in KML files and proved the feasibility of this software in the study. Finally, the progress of system development is introduced.The second part researched navigation elements of the various chart and extracted the logical model of chart elements.And then derived physical models that the computer can realize, that is the navigation database ER diagram. Finally, the model is programmed to realize.The third part discussed the principles and techniques of the three-dimensional visualization used by the scene establishing. The turning leg automatically generating algorithm and route management algorithm based on routes node data is advanced. Finally, based on the route generating, flight view dynamic interactive cruise along the route is achieved.This paper addresses the following two questions: the first one is the 3-dimensional demonstration of chart elements; the other is the realization of flight view dynamic interactive cruise. Also they are the innovation of this paper. The 3-dimensional demonstration of the chart elements is the base of a computer expressing charts. It provides a reference for the conversion from two-dimensional to three-dimensional chart. Flight view dynamic interactive cruise is the research results combine the database technology, VC++ programming techniques and the Google Earth platform, and it provided a new technical idea for flight simulation in virtual scenes feature. It can be applied to the ground validation during the design of flight procedures and the pilots'airline training. If combined the research of aircraft performance, it can also provide some important supplementary means for the validation and experience of special program design (such as single engine failure).
