The Sympathy Of The Spirit And The Landscape Environment

Currently, people pursue the higher standard of life in terms of material and spirit due to the development of economy and the improvement of people's life quality. In addition, the development of global informationization promotes the amalgamation of diversely racial cultures, traditions and customs that expresses a 'flourish and abundant situation'in culture interaction.'The demand', which people pursue initially, indicates the material requisites in most occasions. People usually pursue the flaunty expression, which associates with diverse cultures, that causes 'miscellaneous, disorder, noisy'situation in landscape environment, as well as cannot improve the enjoyment of spirit. This situation appearing in courtyard landscape is much more evident. People, who live in isolated apartments within a long time, have increasing feeling of lost themselves. They are eager to possess a spirit space where they can find the real themselves and release their minds. Therefore, it is necessary to point out some new theories and methods, which is used to maintain people's spirits and thoughts in design and creation of modern courtyard, that promotes the development of modern landscape.Taoist spirit theory established in Taoist philosophy is a historical classic theory. This paper combines the logical analysis theory of western landscape aesthetics with 'Naturally Tao'principle of Taoist philosophy, Taoist aesthetics theory and modern courtyard design theory to search a solution of creating the spirit landscape pursued by people.In the research of this paper, firstly, the availability of Taoist aesthetics in modern courtyard design is illustrated by two points including the realistic meaning of Taoist philosophy in modern society and the lack but pursued'spirit space'in modern landscape design. Secondly, this paper will analyze and research landscape aesthetics, emotion and artistic conception to find out the essential objective conditions of the aesthetical subjective and objective which can achieve the synchrony of the spirit and the landscape environment. Thirdly, this paper focuses on'Naturally Tao' aesthetics theory in terms of entirety aesthetics, nature aesthetics, emptiness and quietness aesthetics and geomantic aesthetics and point out that aesthetical subjective need a peaceful and natural mood to realize the feeling of 'landscape environment', and also point out the aesthetical research of'let nature takes its course'. According to the above theories, this paper systematically analyzes the similar opinions by coincidence between the modern landscape design and Taoist artistic conception that, firstly, optimizes, extends and enhances the meaning of'let nature takes its course' conception from Taoist spirit affecting modern courtyard design; secondly, explores the approaches of interaction between spirit and landscape environment; finally, offers some methods and thoughts for future landscape creation.
