Commonly refrigerants used in house and vehicle air conditions such as R22 and R134a have nonzero ODP and high GWP. According to Montreal Protocol and related revisions, R22 should be phased out before 2020 in developed countries and the deadline for R134a which as the automotive air condition refrigerant in European Union is 2017.Currently most of their common alternative refrigerants are finalized products of foreign corporations, which still have high GWP and can not be used as a permanent alternative refrigerants. The aim of this study is to develop new alternative refrigerants with good properties and own intellectual property rights.Based on superior environment performance of the natural refrigerants itself and widely study on safety and feasibility about them. Through the relevant property calculations, we use the new binary refrigerant mixtures R22-T (DME/R1270, 15-25/75-85%) and R134a-T (DME/R1270,80-90/10-20%) to replace R22 and R 134a.We use experimental and simulation method to analyze and study the new refrigerants replacing R22 and R134a in existing system.Drop in performance of two alternative refrigerants is studied by this paper firstly. According to relevant national standards, the units comparative tests of new refrigerants and corresponding replaced refrigerants are completed on the air-water heat pump test platform in different operating conditions. The test results show that the system filled with new refrigerants compared with original units filled with old refrigerants operates stably, and has sharply increased cooling capacity and COP in the same operating conditions and without none changes in units.The energy-saving effect is evident. The result of new refrigerants used in original units is satisfactory.To study the thermal properties of new refrigerants furtherly, this paper established the theoretical Mathematical model for calculating, and develop this specific thermodynamic properties calculation software for the new type of refrigerant by use of VB 6.0. And calculated wide range of parameters in saturated and unsaturated states,and compared them with the data of replaced refrigerants. The result shows that the thermal parameters are closed between the new and the replaced refrigerants in different conditions and meet the alternative requirements in theory.Theoretical analyses as well as experimental results prove that the environmental performance of new refrigerants is excellent.Thermodynamic properties of alternative refrigerants are closed to the replaced refrigerants, the cycle performances are more superior, which meet the requirement of alternative refrigerants.It is worth further research.
