Tilting sand saw is an important stone industry processing equipment. Each device in a working cycle, the load changes alternately between light and heavy, nearly half the processing time being a state of light or no load which results low efficiency, serious energy-wasting. Therefore, according to the Operating Characteristics of Tilting sand saw which is the important equipment for stone processing, researching energy-saving technology for the main drive AC motor has very important economic and social benefits. Energy-saving technology of ALCIONE-600-2B tilting sand saw provided by XiaMen GaoShi Stone corporation was researched. Article introduced the structure and the work process of tilting sand saw in detail, then pointing out that the key for energy-saving of the system is soft starting and adjusting voltage in the process of stone processing, and at last researching the design of the energy-saving controller of tilting sand saw, the Specific work as below:Firstly, discrete frequency-control soft starting technology was adopted on the basis of analyzing current commonly used motor soft starting ways and heavy load starting characteristics of sand saw. This soft start technology make the 50Hz voltage into discrete low-frequency voltages when motor gets starting, so as to enhance the start torque,as well as inhibit the starting current. Simulation results showed that the discrete frequency-control technology for soft starting of sand saw not only has stronger starting torque than traditional soft starting technology, but also inhibits the starting surge current effectively.Secondly, through analyzing and comparing the main energy-saving policies by the way of adjusting motor stator voltage, combined with processing characteristics and load characteristics of tilting sand saw, a motor energy-saving fuzzy controller was designed. The input of fuzzy controller are power factor and load rate, and the output is the variation of trigger angle of SCR, via making fuzzy rules to achieve energy-saving by adjusting motor voltage. Matlab simulation results demonstrated the feasibility and effectiveness of the method.Finally, TMS320LF2407A DSP chip produced by TI was used as the core. The hardware and software design of the energy-saving controller were also completed. The hardware design includes a thyristor circuit and other auxiliary control circuits. The Software design contains trigger pulse module, power factor detection module, load rate calculation module and energy-saving controller algorithm module.
