The Development Of Engine Hot-Running Test Ssytem Based On LabVIEW

The main purpose of this paper is to design and produce the engine hot-running equipment with virtual instrument. The objective is to provide a valid tool for automobile engine performance measurement.Some relative research materials from home and abroad were studied, the structure and function of the experiment was analyzed to set the goals of the test bench. The demand of engine hot-running test was analyzed in detail. The structure of the test bench was designed with six modules, such as the distribution module, fuel feeding module, water supply module, high pressure air supply module and tail gas analysis module. Each module was designed separately to accomplish the module design.The procedure of test was divided into five parts according to the sequence of the engine test process. The working principle of each part was researched, the control strategy was determined to realize the function of test. The control strategy of alarm system was joined into test process to prevent accident in engine test process.The control program was developed according to control strategy based on the virtual instruments software platform. The programs for type selection, ECU data communication, test process programming and alarm system were designed and developed. The virtual instrument state machine structure was used in the program, therefore, the complex dynamic structure was simplified by static states. The static state links were established by switching of static states through the trigger signal of the collection and processing to complete the whole engine testing process.The engine test bench was actually designed and developed including water, oil and gas supply system and ECU communication system. The experiment results showed that the designed system can work with satisfactory results to meet the practical requirement.
