With large-scale wind farms in the planning and construction, it is getting worse that the exist of stability problem of wind farm operation. To maintain voltage stability, reactive power compensation of wind power system has been an important issue of sustainable development of wind power system. This thesis mainly focuses on the gird-connected wind turbine with doubly fed induction wind power, respectiely through control strategy adjust reactive power, and add dynamic reactive compensation devices adjust reactive with doubly fed induction wind power.First of all, on the basis of analyzing the mathematical model of wind power generation system, the power decoupling characteristics has been investigated by using the Stator flux-oriented vector control strategy and grid voltage-oriented vector control strategy, so that the effectiveness of the presented control strategy has been confirmed. Using it could not absorb reactive power from the grid to maintain reactive power balance. In the last part, analyze operational principle and control features of SVC (Static Var Compensator), and set up the models of SVC based on symmetrical components in MATLAB/Simulink. Studied voltage stability of doubly fed induction wind power with SVC.At last, analyze operational principle and control features of STATCOM (Static Synchronous Compensator), and set up the models of STATCOM based on symmetrical components in MATLAB/Simulink. Studied voltage stability of doubly fed induction wind power with STATCOM. Base on doubly fed induction wind power simulation examples, comparing dynamic reactive compensation effect of the SVC and STATCOM. The results show that the SVC and STATCOM models are correct and effective. The dynamic reactive compensation devices can ensure continuous operation of wind turbine. These can improve the doubly fed induction wind power system voltage stability and grid safety stability.
