Since CBTC(Communication Based Train Control) will be a trend for development. Zone controller, as core ground installation of CBRC system, plays key role in travelling effeteness, control accuracy, safety and reliability under the CBTC system through the completion of movement authority production and transmitting. We made the contribution on working mechanism of CBTC, function required of zone controller as well as its design principle. Moreover, we confirmed the connection of zone controller with other subsystems and set modeling and simulation aimed at zone controller.Though, zone controller is production movement authority based on exchange with other subsystems that introduces colored Petri net modeling theory. To modal aimed at exchange of zone controller and subsystem conducted by CPN tools. Models can be validated by simulation, they also can be state space calculated and performance analysis by CPN tools.With the confirmation of the mechanism of interaction between zone controller and other subsystems, how the zone controller generated the movement authority has been elucidated from the aspect of data recourses and data stream. We confirmed the movement authority generation of each working condition. To further analyze the function of zone controller in CBTC system, we made the discussion on its treatment strategy to the faulty system.Based on the function and exchange process of zone controller, we develop a simulation system software using VC++. This software is featured by friendly interface, modularization, images displayed on-line and realized the function validated and simulation for zone controller with different trains working under numerous controls.
