Landscape Approaches To Small Natural Landscape Towns Mainly For Tourism In Longmenshan

Longmen Mountain is located to the northwest of Chengdu Plain; it's a natural boundary between Sichuan Basin and West Sichuan Plateau. Generally. Longmen Mountain range from Guangyuan to Luding, it is about 180 kilometers long, and 30 to 70 kilometers wide, and it's the transition region between the first step topography (Qinghai-Tibet Plateau) and the second step topography (Sichuan Basin). Because of the special geographical environment, the natural landscapes in there are really very rich, and the alpine ecosystems and tourism resources are also in abundances. Especially the small natural landscape towns mainly for tourism are distinctive, and they are important tourism resources which can be developed now. However, the earthquake caused big damages to natural and tourism resources. This paper followed the national strategy of "Focus on the reconstruction and development, and ecological restoration and tourism at the same time". And it's mainly studied the landscape planning ideas of natural landscape towns mainly for tourism in Longmen Mountain; hope to provide some valuable references to the researches and practices in the future.This paper mainly studied the middle part of Longmen Mountain, which beginning at Guixi in Beichuan County, and ending at Jiulonggou in Chongzhou. It is about 180 kilometers long, and 60 kilometers wide.Including Dujiangyan municipality, Jiangyou municipality, Pengzhou municipality, Chongzhou municipality, Shifang municipality, An county, Beichuan county, Wenchaun. And the area is proximately 9200 Square kilometers. This paper explained the conception of Small Towns Mainly for Tourism and Natural Landscape Towns Mainly for Tourism, and then cleared 59 towns are Natural Landscape Towns Mainly for Tourism, they are Hongkou, Longchi, Qingchengshan, Xiaoyudong, and so on. And classified them into two types in the macro scope according to the terrain and the structure of the natural landscapes, one type is Mountain and Valley, the other one is Tableland and Hills. Then anglicized it's landscape characteristics from spatial distribution, landscape ecology and resources, and analyzed the similarities and differences between the two types of towns. On this basis, this paper summarized the main problems and difficulties which have to be overcome in the landscape planning of Natural Landscape Towns Mainly for Tourism in Longmen Mountain, and targeted proposed the general planning ideas of landscape planning. The ideas are "Conservation First, Promote Conservation through Tourism", look for the community participation and tourist support and provide disaster prevention and mitigation system. And then, according to the categories and characteristics of Natural Landscape Towns Mainly for Tourism, in Longmen Mountain, this paper proposed that towns of Mountain and Valley should be landscape recourses conservation-oriented, and towns of Tableland and Hills should be cultural mining-oriented during landscape planning. In the end, this paper studied two towns which named Longchi and Gexianshan in Longmen Mountain as cases according to these ideas as a further verification. Generally, the landscape planning ideas which proposed in this paper have some promotional value to Natural Landscape Towns Mainly for Tourism in Longmen Mountain.
