Along with the number and scale of tunnel engeeringin creasing, geological environment encountered in tunnel construction ecomes more and more complex.Geological predication is an very important work in tunnel construction,which can provide guarantee for construction safety and project quality.The paper describes the research content of geological predication in Yunyang Mountain tunnel. According to the geological characteristics of Yunyang Mountain tunnel, several methods are used for the geological predication. The content of the paper generally involves the following aspects:(1) Analyze the geological environment in combination with previous investigation data.The short-term geological predication work is conducted on the basis of geologic method, supplemented by drilling.(2) Study the application of TSP and TGP, whose characteristics and application experience in geological predicationre are summarized. The application of electrical sounding method is also discussed in the paper.(3) Discuss the tunnel geological disasters and make the distribution charts of possible geological disasters. When making decisions on site, the broken degree of surrounding rock ahead the cutting face is judged by appropriately using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.Geological predication can provide security guarantee for the successful construction of Yunyang Moutains tunnel. The formation of the tunnel is characterized by fault and fracture zone, and the ground water is maily composed of bedrock fissure water. The condition of groundwater is also controlled by lithology and sale of fracture zone.The seismic wave reflection method, such as TSP and TGP, can play a good role in judging the rock of Yunyang Moutains tunnel. In the tunnel built with drill and blast method, the way of detecting by deepen blasthole is convenient and pratical. In the engineering geological assessment, the appropriate use of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method could bring a good result.
