With the rapid progress of times and the development of industrial technology, the construction of modern power grid and its loads have had the emergence of new trends, which cause that the power quality attracted more and more attentions of power apartments and users in the field. Based on LabVIEW platform, this thesis developed a new type of power quality online monitoring system combined with virtual instrument technology, GPRS wireless communication technology and GPS clock technology. This system realized online monitoring and accurate analysis of power quality, which could provide the improvement of power quality and the operation standard of power market with important basis.Firstly, this thesis introduced the basic concepts of power quality and virtual instrumentation, analyzed the advantages of virtual instrumentation applied to power system, made a comparative analysis to all sorts of power quality detection methods and instruments, then pointed the necessity and urgency of development of new power quality online monitoring system.Secondly, this thesis presented the overall structure assumptiona of new type of power quality online monitoring system based on wireless channel, completed the design of detection terminal, using transformers, signal disposal box, data acquisition card and GPS module. Detection terminal included function modules such as data acquisition, data analysis, data storage and GPS unit, whose hardware designs and software programming methods were elaborated in this thesis. Then the thesis introducted the synchronous sampling theory based on GPS clock technology, given the selection plan, peripheral circuit and software design of GPS module.Thirdly, based on GPRS wireless communication technology, the communication function of the whole monitoring system was achieved. This thesis summarized the development and application situation of GPRS, analyzed the GPRS wireless communication protocols, then slected the network scheme according to the actual needs of the system. The thesis also introduced the performance, parameters and distribution of the pins of GPRS module slected, presented the software design flow of wireless communication solution in detail.Finally, this thesis improved the upper computer functions, using the convenient, simple, powerful and graphical Lab VIEW language, compiled the waveform restructuring, statistics generation and information release modules, realized the functions such as information visualization, classified statistics and information release on internet.So, with the monitoring system designed in this thesis, the power quality could be acquisited and detected in real time, synchronously and accurately. The system realized the functions of automatic long-term online monitoring and historical data query.Compared with the traditional monitoring instrumentations, this system not only had the advantages of short development cycle, easy control, enhanced processing ability and flexible expansibility, but also could meet the needs of modem power system study in commonality, synchronicity and flexibility.
