Program resources of this paper: Supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China(50 75136),Natural Science Foundation- Key Program of Guangdong Union Foundation(U0934004) and Major State Basic Research Development Program of China(2011CB707602).Linear ultrasonic motor(LUSM) is a new type of micro motor, which developed rapidly in recent years have gradually replace the trend of electromagnetic linear motors in special applications. At present, the various structural forms of LUSM there are some obvious features, such as the output force is small, the energy conversion rate at the end, running unstable, short life and so on. In order to improve the energy conversion rate of the LUSM, this paper presents a new type of LUSM based on the existing research。The main research achievements and work were summarized as follows.Firstly, the development course of the LUSM domestic and abroad and the characteristics of various LUSMs are summarized. Then the main problems of the LUSM are listed, so the research contents of the paper is determined.Secondly, the energy transmission is explained using the acoustic theory. The amplifier pole should be designed reasonably for the efficient energy transmission. Based on the theory above, the structure of the new ultrasonic motor with double amplifier poles is designed and the electrical excitation method is determined.Thirdly, the structure design method of bar-type LUSM is proposed in the paper and based on it the structure of the stator is designed. The clamping method of the stator is proposed and based on the experiment the method is improved. Thus, the problem of clamping the stator is solved. Fourthly, the prototype is designed. The assembly mode of the stator and the operating frequency of the motor are determined through the modal experiment of the stator. The mechanical output characteristic is tested. Finally, in order to gradually establish a theoretical model of the whole motor, a brief theoretical calculation of the stator mode.
