BRT is short for Bus Rapid Transit. It is a new system of public passenger based on Normal Bus Transit and fast track transportation. It's means of transportation which can transport a lot of people. Usually it's called'the subway system on the ground', which is a term applied to a variety of public transportation systems using buses to provide faster, more efficient service than an ordinary bus line. Often this is achieved by making improvements to existing infrastructure, vehicles and scheduling. The goal of these systems is to approach the service quality of rail transit while still enjoying the cost savings and flexibility of bus transit. And this article is talk about some problems of BRT'intelligent control.The problems of BRT'intelligent control are mostly in two aspects: The first one is how to processing the picture of visual, it's how to deal with the pictures got by vehicle camera accurately and fast. The second one is how to control the vehicle, I mean based on the traffic operation, control the vehicle such as accelerating, decelerating, the brakes, and stopping. It is mostly talk about these two questions.The first thing of intelligent control of the BRT is how to deal with the visual pictures accurately and fast. It is a prerequisite for intelligent control. The author presents an improved method of binary image,which is based on vague control, compared with color images algorithm which is widely used, the new binary image processing ,at the same costs in hardware, through the removal of unnecessary road image information, simplifying the computing formula to improve the computing speed, timely and accurate tells people road's situations in order to reach a BRT vehicle's smart driving in a straight line section.Combined with the binary method, the author try to control the vehicle by using vague algorithm, and the paper focused on the control of buses into the station. And then ,we have done some simulation to BRT by MATLAB and SIMPACK ,and by using Autonomous Land Vehicle.At the end of the paper, the author looks the future of the processing of picture and the controlling, and gives some suggestions for future work.
