Currently, as the structural design of expressway always neglect traffic volumes of emergency stopway, for lacking of appropriate research, and it is generally adopted the same structure and materials as expressway driveway.It is increasing potentially construction costs of highway.The traffic volume on Emergency stopway highway is much less than drive's traffic and it is difficult to forecast it. Propose the way that the traffic volume on emergency stopway highway has been divided into three parts, crossing the boundary traffic, stopping traffic and normal traffic.At present, precast concrete block pavement is hardly adopted in domestic expressway construction. In fact, there are many advantages of this kind of pavement. Such as it is of high structural strength and structure durability, low construction cost and maintainability well, especially there is no need of heavy machine. It is considering that the advantages of the precast concrete block pavement is conforming the requirement of emergency stopway, so this article take systematic investigation and study on precast concrete block pavement.Structural design study of interlocking block pavement is developed in this study.For precast concrete block pavement with unbound granular materials in the base,takeing the tolerable permanent deformation as its design index,and pavement with cement-treated base is Flexural-tensile stress. Referenceing to the experience of successful applications in Yunnan Province, the concrete pavement in accordance with the elastic layered theory is equivalent to the asphalt pavement.Equivalent methods are equivalent thickness method and the equivalent modulus method. The equivalent thickness method is more conservative.
