Without human intervention as possible, smart switch for inrush current control and Short-circuit in dynamic simulation system can simulate various of abnormal conditions of power system, including transformer inrush current and a variety of Short-circuit fault and so on. The perfection of smart switch is more in line with the dynamic simulation laboratory test environment of scene operation condition, which provided strong support for the safe and reliable operation of power system.This subject contains four aspects. The first is the design of smart switch's hardware system. It was composed by five module: (1)Data processing and arithmetic units; (2)Pretreatment system of input signals, namely, analogy input system; (3)On/Off data input/output loop, namely, On/Off data input/output system; (4)Man-machine loop interface; (5)Communication interface. At the same time, its ground connection, the design of important signal , the design of digital and analog mixed circuit, and the reasonable layout improve the anti-jamming performance. The second is the modular design for software system. it is consist of interrupt service program, main operating system module and subroutine module for each function. The third is the research of inrush current control principle and its judgment algorithm. It is perfect to control inrush current, using Fuzzy control algorithm. The last is the design of Short-circuit simulation program, which investigated the algorithm of phase and amplitude of Short-circuit, making the smart switch has short-circuit simulation function.
