As the most important locomotive equipment for completing the production mission of transportation, motor train-set's buying and maintaining cost are expensive,and takes great percents of the equipment investment of passenger dedicated line. Thus, improving the using efficiency of motor train-set can reduce the number of motor train-set which has great importance on reducing the operation cost. Train-set scheduling is an integrative plan containing train-set routing and maintaining, in other words, on the base of the situation of train-set, aiming for using least train-set to complete all the mission of transportation in plan.Train regulation is a process to reschedule the train timetable when the actual train operation status deviate the train schedule, and resume most of trains running by order as far as possible. There are much difference between train-set and usual train routing, which conduce to the method of train regulation is different too. The usual method of train regulation is illogical to train-set regulation. Train regulation problem has the characteristic of high real-time, strong constrains and combinatorial optimization.Based on consulting massive papers, and unifies the domestic and foreign newest research results, the main problem of this article are studied as the following several aspects:1.The paper Analysis the characteristic of train-set scheduling,the influencing factor and the mode of train-set scheduling. Major study on the difference between train-set scheduling and conventional passenger train scheduling.2.It compares the similarities and difference of regulation between existing train and train-set and analysis the reason and characteristic of train-set regulation, then put forward principle and measure for resolving this problem.3.Based on unfixed routing mode and the total later time is acceptable, it establishes math model which aims that the total of late train-set is least.4.The problem of train regulation is not only a large scale combination optimization problem, but also a kind of NP-hard problems, and there are many constraints. Besides, drawing train regulation plan requires timely. The model can hardly be solved by mathematical programming methods. This paper attempts to solve the problem according to writing computer program.
