Seismic performance of structure has been the focus of civil engineering study, which relates to a variety of factors. As one of the most popular building structure systems in the world, the study of seismic performance of reinforced concrete frame structure has become an important and hot spot at present. It has illustrated from many earthquake disasters both at home and abroad that frame joint is not only the pivot of load transfer in frames but also the weak link of the frames at the same time and the key spot to ensure the load-bearing capacity and rigidity in frame structures. Further more, the failure of the joint usually is the main reason that causes the damage of the whole frame. Therefore, our country current design code request configure a mass of stirrups to ensure the load-bearing capacity of the core, which can easily cause reinforcement crowded, complex structures and construction difficulties. In the paper, steel fiber reinforced concrete was used in the joint instead of the stirrups. The steel fiber concrete can not only improve behavior of frame joint and deal with the construction difficulties but also ensure certain seismic performance of the joint. In the paper, two samples of interior joint were made. The size of the two joints was column height 1600mm with the cross section 200mmx200mm and beam length 2600mm with the cross section 250mm×150mm. According to test results of two specimens under low cyclic loading, the occurrence and development of cracks, deformation, ductility, energy dissipation and final failure mode of the joint were studied. The results showed that:Compared with the high-strength reinforced concrete frame joint, the steel fiber reinforced high-strength concrete frame joint had better fracture shape and larger cracking load. The steel fiber had better effects on increasing the deformation, ductility, energy dissipation of the joint and improving the seismic behavior of the joint to some extent.
