The Function Evolution And Space Construction Of City Square Based On The Modern Lifestyle

Since the reform and opening up, the economic development level promote quickly in china, after meeting the basic material life, recreation has become an important part of modern lifestyle, people started to pursue of the spiritual life in spare time. The recreational function of the city square is more and more prominent. The city square become the important place of outdoor leisure activities. But in recent years, blind transplantation and simple imitation leads to some problems appearing in city square, such as the size scale and the single space.The city square emphasizes on image display so much that people daily recreation activities are ignored. Therefore, based on the subject of the diversification of recreation research, from the city square recreation function point of view, this thesis discusses the means of the city square recreation space construction.This research contents mainly include:First of all, this thesis analyses the origin, evolution and development of the Chinese and western city square systematically, research the city square's social functions and spatial form of different historical periods, sum up the evolution law of city square's form and function. After careful analysis of the modern city square development, this thesis summarize that the modern city square gives priority to with recreational function eventually.Second, this thesis summarizes and analyses related basic theory research, including environmental behavior of psychology, place theory and environmental aesthetics theory. According to these theories, the writer select xin'cheng square and zi wei garden square as the study cases. Through the observation, the interview and questionnaire, the writer research the space environments and the recreation activities of the two squares. This article summarizes recreation behavior characteristics and psychological needs of different people and square space environments in meet the demand of recreation activities in deficiency.Finally, in conjunction with the relevant basic theories and the results of the survey, the writer proposes four principles that the city square recreational space should follow:the comfortable environments, multivariant and mix use, participant and safety; then this thesis discusses the six means of recreation space construction:emphasizing prophase research work,shaping the multiple function space,dividing humanistic space scale, creating rich pleasant activities boundary and offering a wide variety environment facilities. At the end, the paper put forward the author's conclusions and the outlook of the recreation space construction in city square.
