The dynamic characteristics of a multiple rocket launcher are the key factors which influence launching intensity. Modal analysis is a major technology in the quest for determining dynamic characteristics of engineering structures, it's essential in improving and optimizing dynamic characteristics of a multiple rocket launcher. Based on modal analysis theory, a multiple rocket launcher is tested to determine its mode parameters in this thesis. Major work is divided into the two parts:Finite element analysis:The three dimensional CAD model of the launching guider and the system are created in Pro/E. After that, the models are imported in ANSYS, in which it creates the particular finite element model of them, then it calculates in detail the modal natural frequencies and vibration shapes. The results obtained provide the basis for experimental modal analysis.Experimental modal analysis:According to the structural characteristics of a rocket launching system, a testing system is established. According to finite element analysis, the experimental of the launching guider and the system are designed. After that, the experimental are carried out and the results are obtained. The results of experimental modal analysis not only can be used to calibrate a finite element model, but also can be used to evaluate the performance of a multiple rocket launcher directly. According to the results, this thesis provides some direction of optimal design. To the Fibre-reinforced plastic launching guider, the errors between calculation results and test results are summarized.
