The composite wall, which is composed of cold-formded steel wall studs, kinds of boards fixing with screws, is the main structure in the cold-formed steel residential buildings.The paper mainly describes the experimental reseach on composite wall with sandwich plates, calcium silicate board and so on, and the further finite element analysis on sandwich plates cold-formed steel composite wall, and design suggestions about the construction of the wall.At first, the shear resistances of nine full-size composite wall with sandwich plates, calcium silicate board were tested in this paper. The test devices, test method and full test preocess as well as the analysis of test result are introduced in details.The test results showed: sandwich plate cold-formed steel composite walls with cross-steel strip have certain bearing capacity and Stiffness, which can instead of traditional OSB board; the bearing capacity of the double boards' composite walls that one side is sandwich plate and the other side is calcium silicate board is similar to the bearing capacity of the single side sandwich plate and the single side calcium silicate board.Then, nonlinear finite element analysis involving geometric large deformation and materials nonlinear is used to simulate sandwich plate cold-formed steel composite walls in this paper. From the comparison of finite element analysis with experimental results, we arrive at that the finite element model is more accurate. On this basis, the parametric study analysis was carried out to mainly determine the effect of the fastener spacing, the height to width ratio and the construction of the wall panel. The results indicate that the load bearing capacity of the composite wall increases when the the fastener spacing, the height to width ratio decreased and the wall panel staggered arranged.At last, on the basis of the test and finite element analysis, according to the method of the Technical Specification for Low-Rise Cold-formed Thin-Wall Steel Buildings, we calulat the design value of the composite wall with different wall panels, which provide trusty data for the specification.The design suggestions are made according to the problems of the test and the effect factors of the shear resistance of the composite wall.
