Ionic Liquids are made up of the specific cation and anion that are liquid at roomtemperature. Chiral ionic liquids have the dual function of chiral materials and liquidmaterials. Chiral ionic liquids replace the tractional organic solvent in manyasymmetric organic reactions, to avoid the toxic, corrosive and other defects. At thesame time, chiral ionic liquids have been applied in NMR and gas chromatography.Henry reaction's product β-nitro alcohols are important organic intermediatesand they can be converted into many important products, such as nitro olefincompounds, β-amino alcohols, containing nitro carbonyl-compounds. These productshave certain biological and pharmacological activities, such as HIV proteaseinhibitors, anti-fungal, antagonists, anthracycline antibiotics.Biginelli reaction is a reaction to the formation of pyrimidine ring.3,4-Dihydropyrimidinones have a wide range of biological activity andpharmacological activity, such as anti-virus, anti-cancer, anti-hypertensive andanti-inflammatory. Biginelli reaction has been one of the hot topics in the study ofchemical workers.In this paper, we prepared7novel chiral ionic liquids based on(R)-thiazolidine-2-thione-4-carboxylic acid and studied their physical and chemicalproperties. These chiral ionic liquids are used for catalytic Henry reaction andBiginelli reaction as catalyst.
