In recent years, metal-organic coordination polymers areeasy-extended in terms of functional materials and potential applicationsin liquid crystal materials, optical fibers, electroluminescent materials. Somore and more people start to pay attention to the metal-organiccoordination polymers. The research on design, synthesis, structure andapplication of the metal-organic coordination polymer have become afever field in academic circle.Adopting the hydrothermal reactions, we synthesized two newmetal-organic complex with Nd(Ⅲ) and Cu(Ⅱ) as the central metal ionsand2,5-pydc (2,5-pydc=pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylic acid) as the organicligand, respectively. The structures and properties of them arecharacterized by EDS, IR, X-ray diffraction, TG-DTA, fluorescencespectrum, and DRS.1. The research on the influence factors for the synthesis of the titledcompounds such as reaction temperature, the solvent, pH and reactantratio. 2. We synthesized two new metal-organic complexes[Nd(pydc)(Hpydc)](1) and [Nd2Cu3(pydc)6(H2O)10]14H2O(2) byhydrothermalmethod.(1)The compound [Nd(pydc)(Hpydc)](1)was synthesized. Structuralanalyses reveals that the complex crystallizes in the orthorhombic system,space group Pbcn. Cell parameters a=9.9786(11), b=8.7687(13), c=15.802(2), α=90°, β=90°, γ=90°.(2)The compound [Nd2Cu3(pydc)6(H2O)10]14H2O(2) wassynthesized. Structural analyses reveals that the complex crystallizes in amonoclinic system, space group C2/c, cell parameters a=15.668(2), b=14.4975(14), c=29.4213(15), α=90°, β=100.093(10)°, γ=90°.3. The thermal stability of the compound(1) is strong for the frameworkof it is stable under410℃. The thermal stability of the compound(2) isstrong for the framework of it is stable under317℃.4. The compound(1) and (2) has weak fluorescence property.[Nd(pydc)(Hpydc)] has isolator property.[Nd2Cu3(pydc)6(H2O)10]14H2Ohas semiconductorproperty.
