To mechanical parameters of the rocks in coal bed, which have been regarded as a kindof equipotent and sequential medium in the former researches to adopt the methods ofelastoplasticity and macroscopic damage mechanics, but the limit function or theevolutionary rule of damage has been only established from the phenomenological point inthese methods, which was hard to reveal the internal joint of the coal mass, the mechanismsof the influence from the crack on the mechanical parameters of the rock mass. At present toconsider the method which has combined the fracture mechanics and the microscopic damagemechanics that have described the entire process of the creation, evolution, element ofvolume damage and fracture of the internal joint and crack of rock mass, since the methodhas simulated the development process of the joint and crack in the rock mass, it shows thefavorable foreground.Basing on the above-mentioned knowledge, this paper develops and studies themechanical qualities such as the deformation, hardness of the gang cleap of intermittent crackand through crack, reveals the mechanisms that the constructional surfaces such as the jointor the crack influence the deformation parameter and the intensity parameter of the rock bodyfrom the microscopic angle of sight, establishes one calculation model of mechanicalparameters of coal rock mass with cross-stratification including the gang cleap of intermittentcrack and through crack and considers the new intensity damage rule of coal rock mass ofgang cleap, and according to the new intensity damage rule and mechanical parameters,separately establishes the calculation model of the damage range and the calculation model ofthe elastic range for the sidewall rocks in the coal-bed gas well. Then new approaches andreferences have been developed for the acquisition and determination of the mechanicalparameters of coal rock mass, and the theory basis has been improved to precisely describethe stress distribution of the sidewall rock.
