Biodiesel is a renewable and green energy resource,not only enhancing energy security and improving the environment,but also creating a new economical industrial chain,so it is considered one of the best ways to sovle the global energy crisis and becoming the focus of the diesel alternative fuels.In this paper, the experiments were under load at800rpm/120N·m,and combustion characteristics of the fuel B0,B10,B20,B30was tested and analysed by a LabVIEW program. The experimental results showed that:with the increase in the amount of biodiesel mixed into the fuel,the peak of pressure and pressure rise rate declined,their corresponding crank angle was slightly advanced,the start and end of combustion was postponed,the peak of heat release rate decreased and its corresponding crank angle significantly shifted back, the cumulative heat release declined, heat release rate in the prophase gradually decreased but slightly increased in the anaphase.Multi-dimensional simulation of the diesel combustion under FIRE was based on the estimates of the physical parameters of the biodiesel,which was verified by the data from the experiments.Through the transient analysis of the spay and combustion simulation, this paper inferred the reasons of the changes and the diffference of combustion characteristics of B0,B10,B20. The simulation results also showed that the higher the content of the biodiesel in the fuel was,the higher the sauter diameter and penetration got,the greater the cylinder gas exercise intensity enhanced,the lower the cylinder average temperature became but there were some local high temperature zones.From the analysis of experiments and simulation results,the combution performance of B10is greatly similar to diesel,meanwhile the peak of pressure rise rate was lower which made the diesel engine work softly and reduced impact load, vibration and noise,so B10instead of diesel is feasible.
