As the core equipment of large-scale crushing station, spiral screeningcrusher is being widely used in the industry of metallurgy, mine and coal etc.Among this industry coal is the largest user, with50%proportion. In ourcountry the crusher is concentrated in the new major coal. In the background ofresource integration and 'more crushing less grinding', the domestic demand ofthis equipment will be increasing day by day. However, it mainly depends onimported. As key technology in the design of spiral screening crusher, the rollergear's shape, structure and layout not only directly affect the crushing results ofwhole device, but also be closely related to the broken power, productioncapacity and progeny size. So, further study of this crusher is very important.This article gives a general description of the principle, structure andfeature of the spiral screening crusher. Focus on MMD1150spiral screeningcrusher for the prototype, the analysis model is based on the situation that the tipof tooth,which is the key part of the double-toothed roll crusher,cut into themineral. Using different modules of the finite element analysis software ANSYSWorkbench to establish a parametric model of roller gear and solve theequivalent stress and overall deformation. Followed choose3parameters, whichis related to the shape of roller gear, as design variables to optimize the rollergear's shape. The purpose of optimization is to reduce the maximum equivalentstress and overall deformation. Meanwhile, using Pro/E to create different helixangles broken roll's three-dimensional solid model, which will be assembledwith broken box and imported into the discrete element analysis softwareEDEM to form virtual prototype model. It can simulate the particle's dynamicbehavior. In virtual prototype model, after simulating the signal size granularmaterial's movement, we get the different helix angle roll's torque,axial force,total force, which at the same speed and feed conditions. Through comparativeanalysis, we can infer the roll axial force increases with spiral increasing angle.In the4roll model, when the helix angle is20°, material's bite effect is better.
