Catalytic pervaporation membrane being of the good performanceshould have stable catalytic activity, excellent performance of goodchoice separation and mechanical stability. This is a new type oftechnology, which has a strong market competitiveness. Compared withthe traditional separation and catalytic process, the catalytic pervaporationmembrane reactor having the dual function make the whole reactionprocess is more compact, and that it can be greatly reduce equipmentinvestment and operating cost, also can reduce unnecessary energyconsumption. In this paper, poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA) membranescrosslinked with5-sulfosalisilic acid(SA) on the polyether sulphonecomposite membrane were used for the esterification of acetic acid byisoamylic alcohol combined with pervaporation. We use the PVA/PESpervaporation membranes dipping the PVA-SA crosslinking catalyticmembrane fluid, during the preparation of which, we improved themembrane preparing parameters, the chemical bonds force between PVA and SA not only improve the main faults of homogeneous acid catalytic, but also overcame greatly the catalytic composite membrane's catalyticstability. To investigate the catalytic-pervaporation composite membranepervaporation performance, we change the layer of catalytic PVAconcentration (2%~4%) gradually, and compare with the pervaporationmembrane's separation properties, at last confirm the catalyst layers'influence on composite membrane performance; After study someaffecting factors of membrane's pervaporation performance such astemperature, concentration of liquid materials, membrane swelling degree,we learned that when composite membrane's catalytic layer was wt.3%PVA-SA, in70conditions, meanwhile through the separationexperiments for95%ethanol/water, separation function of pervaporationcatalytic membranes showed a flux as104.45g/(m2·h), and separationfactor as193.Catalytic pervaporation composite membrane was used in theesterification of acetic acid by isoamylic alcohol. Compared with freesolid acid catalyst, the catalytic membrane kept the primary catalyticactivity, and it still has good catalytic stability after five times use. Theoptimum reaction conditions were obtained: the catalyst loading was30%of PVA, membrane heat treatment temperature at120℃for2h, reactioncoupling with separation, conversion of acetic acid was93.8%at75℃for 24h.In short, catalytic-pervaporation composite membrane has excellentcatalytic performance and good pervaporation performance, It proves thatcatalytic membrane realized separate coupling with reaction in CMR, andthe removal of water broke the equilibrium of reaction, and leading thehigher conversion rate. Catalytic pervaporation composite membrane cansave energy consumption, and reduce the economic costs, even expectedto be used in industrial production of the relevant industries.
