Ionic liquid, also known as room temperature ionic liquid, refers toionic compounds which is liquid at room temperature. Ionic liquid has alow melting point and high boiling point. Its saturated steam pressure isbasically zero, and has good dissolution and catalytic effect. Ionic liquidhas good potential to work as extraction agent catalyst.Reactive distillation, as a commonly used technology in recent years,is to combine distillation and reaction in one tower, usually using solid acidas catalyst. Ionic liquid as it is safer, more active than solid acid, will be anew type of catalyst. This paper examines the parameters of ionic liquids activitycoefficients, and the selectivity of ionic liquid as extraction agent, alsodesigned and simulated active distillation with ionic liquid as catalyst.Main work is as follows:Firstly, based on regression of parameters UNIFAC(universalfunctional activity coefficient) model of12kinds of ionic liquids, whosedata have never been reported, we predicted and compared vapor-liquidequilibrium data, as well as the selectivity of ionic liquid as catalyst in extractive distillations. Thus we can calculate the activity coefficient ofionic liquids, whose VLE data have never been reported, and offer certainguidance to the selection of ionic liquid as extractant in extractivedistillations.Secondly, the synthesis of butyl acetate reaction distillation simulationcatalyzed by the traditional solid acid and the ionic liquid has been run andcontrast. Based on ionic liquid catalyst reaction distillation simulation, thereflux ratio, feeding temperature, pressure, feeding position, reaction seriesparameters on the reaction rate and the influence of TAC were obtained thepreliminary optimized design. Finally, we optimized reaction zone, feed position, and rectifyingsection number to obtain the final design scheme of the reaction distillationcolumn of synthesis of butyl acetate with ionic liquid as catalyst, based onthe preliminary design using the internal heat integration in reactiondistillation column.
