| Dicyclopentadiene phenol epoxy resin is based on the advantages of heat resistance, electrical performance, low viscosity, high adhesion, acid and alkali resistance of the alicyclic epoxy resins dicyclopentadiene resin. By adding in the molecular structure of benzene and other rigid alicyclic structure. In order to greatly improve the heat resistance of materials, reduced water absorption. Its performance is superior to traditional epoxy resins. The resin to meet the requirement of the electrical packaging materials heat-resistant, low shrinkage, acid and alkali, low water absorption, low coefficient of expansion, low internal stress. In this paper, by studying the reaction temperature, reaction time, amount of catalyst, DCPD and phenol ratio on the synthesis conditions, such as DCPD phenol resin of to determine the synthesis process conditions of dicyclopentadiene phenol resin By analysis the reason of resin color, that was due to chain olefin polymer resin containing unsaturated bonds, which was easily to be oxidized chromophore material. The chromophore material of the products which was oxidatized can be restored by reducing substances. At the same time by the addition to replace the unsaturated bonds in order to achieve the purpose of color degradation. So that the obtained products not only meet the requirements of the relevant industry standards, and more advantages in the market competition.Dicyclopentadiene phenol resin was prepared from dicyclopentadiene and phenol with methane sulfonic acid catalyst. The optimum condition for the synthesis were as follows:n(phenol)/n(DCPD)=5; w (catalyst)=1.5%; T=120℃; t=5 h; yield=89%. The light yellow dicyclopentadiene phenol resin was obtained by the decolouring of catalytic-hydrogenation. The optimal conditions for the decolorization were as follows:hydrogen pressure=1.5 MPa, w (Pd/Al2O3)=0.5%, T=80℃, yield=89%. FT-IR and 1H-NMR analysis identified the desired product. The product properties reached the international quality standards. The light-colored dicyclopentadiene phenol epoxy resin was obtained by the reaction of resin and epichlorohydrin, the reaction condition:n(DPR)/n(ECH)=1:3; w (NaOH)=1.0%; T=70℃; t=4h. The epoxy equivalent of the product was 370 g/mol, Softening point was 67℃, Gardner chromaticity≤7. The product index reached the international quality standards. |
