Spinning triangle is a key area in Ring-spun yarn forming process. The geometric shape of spinning triangle directly affects the migration and tension distribution of fibers, thereby determining yarn quality. Therefore, using appropriate methods to control the spinning triangle geometry to improve yarn quality has been a core issue in spinning technology research. In this paper, inspired by previous studies, a spinning triangle offset device which is a yarn guide device fixed on ring frame was developed. In the spinning process, the yarn left front roller nip passed through the diagonal yarn guide device firstly to re-enter yarn guide. Fix yarn guide traverse device with different positions in horizontal direction to achieve different spinning offsets, and thus the formation of different degrees of diagonal spinning triangle. Offset and diagonal direction changes the geometry of spinning triangle and fiber tension distribution. With certain offset, some of the ring spinning triangle geometry and unevenness of fiber tension distribution can be improved, and ultimately improves the yarn quality.Diagonal direction and offset are the key factors to impact triangle geometry and fiber tension distribution. A theoretical study on yarn torque and fiber tension distribution of spinning triangle in dynamic spinning process was carried in this article. A quasistatic model of fiber tension distribution in spinning triangle and yarn torque model were established as well. Around the central axis of front roller nip line set a few parameters. Spin several counts of yarns on offset device while only offset parameter was changed. At the same time, pictures of the dynamic spinning triangle with different offset were captured by a high-speed camera in the spinning process. Then analyze the effect of offset and diagonal direction on the spinning triangle geometry and yarn quality with test results of yarn property and pictures of dynamic spinning triangle. Finally, optimize design the four key spinning parameters (spindle speed, offset, traveler and yarn twist factor) which influence the spinning triangle.It was found that offset mainly impact yarn hairiness and has no significant effect on yarn strength and evenness. Compared with conventional yarns, yarn hairiness of the right diagonal spinning triangle significantly improved, while the left diagonal yarn hairiness had a certain degree of deterioration. Spinning triangle pictures captured by high speed camera showed that right offset to improves the negative effect of spinning triangle offset and unevenness of both side fiber tension in spinning triangle as a result of twisting effect, and the left offset exacerbated negative spinning triangle offset and difference between fiber tension in both sides of spinning triangle. Spinning triangle shows sometimes the effects of key process parameters (spinning speed, traveler and yarn twist) which form spinning tension on spinning triangle are greater than the effect of offset on yarn quality.
