With the rapid development of modern industry, heavy metal pollution in industrial wastewater received more and more concern. The development of heavy metal treatment reagent becomes a key issue in the field of environmental protection. In this paper, DTC (Dithiocarbamate) was chose as the study object. Economic efficient DTC compounds were synthesized and used to remove heavy metal ions. The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:1. The effects of amino number and DTC structure on heavy metal removal are respectively investigated. The results showed that:the effect of amino number was not obvious while the structure of DTC had great influence on the heavy metal removal. Compared with the DTC-1 synthesized from linear amine, DTC-2 synthesized from cyclic amine could form larger precipitation with heavy metal ions and demonstrate better removal effect on zinc in acid.2. DTC-2 is used to remove Cu2+ with an initial concentration of 5mg/L, when condition of copper removal is:room temperature, reaction time is 15 minutes, DTC dose is the same as the stoichiometric ratio, pH is 8, the dose of flocculent is PAC50mg/L, PAM5 mg/L. copper removal rate of copper is above 95%.3. DTC-2 is used to remove Ni2+ with an initial concentration of 5mg/L, when condition of nikel removal is:room temperature, reaction time is 15 minutes, DTC dose is twice the stoichiometric ratio, pH is 8, and dose of flocculent is PAC50mg/L, PAM5 mg/L, nickel removal rate is above 90%.4. Through the cost analysis of DTC-1 compared with two commercial heavy metal scavengers, in the removal of copper-bearing, nickel-bearing industrial waste water and the integrated nickel, the cost of DTC-1 is less. In the removal of Cu2+, integrated copper, and Ni2+, the two costs are almost the same. However, in the removal of Cr (III), the cost of DTC-1 is more than commercial heavy metal scavengers.5. Compared with two commercial heavy metal scavengers, DTC-2 could effectively removal both the free and integrated copper and nickel; in addition, it could removal zinc which can not be removed under the same condition as the commercial agents. It proved to be a broad spectrum heavy metal scavenger and have a good market prospect.
