Modern CNC technology is developing rapidly to open, flexible, and intelligent direction, however,there are still some big gaps between the world advanced level and our country's technology in these areas. Aiming at the problems of less intelligent, less value-added function of domestic CNC systems,this paper researched and developed the Intelligent Turning Expert System based on SE300 to improve the level of intelligence. A study on the key technology of the system was maked and a viable solution was gived as follows.First of all, this paper researched on the construction technology of building the expert system.Based on the establishment of process database,A flexible and efficient expert reasoning system,which used the first predicate-generation-processes combination as expression method for turning knowledge,was designed with a integrated inference of rule-based reasoning and case-based reasoning.Secondly, through the study of three-dimensional pattern recognition,this paper proposed an idea of contour extraction and feature identification by utilizing expert reasoning system,which solved the automatic conversion from design module to manufacturing module. In the manufacturing process, auto-generated of processing methods chain and automatic sorting process were achieved with the comprehensive use of various reasoning methods, NC simulation syste was also established to verify the processing results.In addition, automated selection and optimization of tools and cutting parameters,which would increase intelligence of Turning Expert System,were also developed.Through analyzing and summarizing the rules of parameter selection, automatic selection mechanism was built by means of expert system technology.Furthermore, cutting parameters were also optimized by making use of multi-objective constrained complex method so that Turning Expert System could provide reasonable processing parameters.Finally, this paper independently designed the underlying support environment with Visual C++ and OpenGL, at the same time, constructed the framework of Turning Expert System based on SE300.Ultimately, It completed the organic integration of each module with optimization design of interface.
