Process simulation software—Aspen Plus is used to simulate and design the aromatics extraction and distillation process by sulfolane. Gather the literatures about aromatics extraction and distillation as reference to get the main process dates of the unit after analysis, comparison and arrangement. Then UNIFAC is used to predecit VLE relationship, and established the thermodynamics model. The other main separation modles are also established. Finally, use the package date of a company's 500000 tons/year aromatic extraction device as the basis to calculate the aromatics extraction and distillation process by Aspen. The simulation results are accordance with package date and the actual production trend, which verified the model selected is correct.Process simulation technical Aspen Plus is used to simulate aromatics distillation, and analysis benzene tower, toluene tower and xylene tower by simulation to confirm the process operation conditions and equipment parameters of the towers. The function of sensitivity analysis of Aspen Plus is used to simulation research the aromatics distillation process. The influences of several main operation parameters such as theoretically perfect tray, reflux ratio, feed stage on the separation process is studied to determine the optimization of process operation conditions and equipment parameters.The optimization operation parameters are obtained which can be used to improve the separate process and guide significantly to energy saving.
