Disperse dye intermediate is an important organic intermediate in printing and dyeing industry. A large number of disperse dye intermediates are required in market both at home and abroad. Therefore, it is significant to study the synthesis process of disperse dye intermediate.In this paper, a series of N, N-dialkylation and N, N-disubstitued alkylation compounds were successfully synthesized with 3-amino-4-methoxy acetanilide (AMA) as starting material. Amino group of AMA was respectively modified through reacting with some substrates such as C2H5Br, n-C4H9Br, n-C6H13Br, CH2=CHCH2Cl, PhCH2Cl, ClCH2CH2OCH2CH2OH, ClCH2COOCH3 and CH2=CHCOOCH3. Through modifying AMA, dyeing property of dyestuff was improved effectively. The effects of reaction conditions such as the kinds of acid binding agent, the amount of acid binding agent and feed ratio were studied. Besides these, factors like reaction temperature, reaction time, solvent and catalyst were also investigated. Under optimized conditions, the yield of products synthesized by reaction of AMA with C2H5Br, n-C4H9Br and CH2=CHCH2Cl was respectively over 90% with water as the solvent.Monoalkylation and substitued monoalkylation of amine are important kinds of organic reaction that have been extensively used in the transformation and construction of products. In this paper, amino group of AMA was selectively modified through reacting with PhCHO, CH3CN and cyanuric chloride. The effects of reaction conditions were also studied. And the optimum process conditions were obtained. Under the conditions, the yield of reaction of AMA with CH3CN and cyanuric chloride was respectively above 90%.The optimal reaction conditions screened in this paper have some advantages:the conditions of each reaction are mild, the yield of the product is high and the reaction is environmentally benign. Research provides theoretical basis and feasible process parameters for the industrialization.
