Sichuan-East China Gas Transmission Pipe line (abbr. SECG line), the China Petroleum of Zhongwu gas line and the Xiangjiaba to Shanghai Long-distance HVDC transmission line are running in the same direction. Sometimes, SECG line crosses or parallels with UHV Transmission Line and there are several electric railway on schedule, which all will bring stray current interference to SECG line. If stray current drainage engineering is not carried out and the effective measures are not taken, SECG line will suffer from the accelerated corrosion and will have hidden dangers on operating the pipeline. In the paper, all kinds of stray current corrosion mechanism are firstly introduced. And then, stray current tests and judgment at the points of stray current mechanism and characteristics the corrosion mechanism are analyzed and discussed. At last, according to the practical situation of SECG line, the paper puts forward the drainage measures on the SECG line. The construction of a complete long-distance natural gas pipeline cathodic protection system, and implement appropriate stray current drainage works, can effectively extend the SECG operational life and they also can bring more integrity management of great significance.
