Decoding Visual Language Of The Nordic Modern Furniture Design

As the standard of people material living constantly improving and the level of cultural education gradually enhancing, the grade of consumption increases. Furniture as indispensable part of our daily life is not only can meet our requirements, but also meet our spiritual and cultural needs. Just practical furniture has been unable to meet the modern requirement to furniture, and reasonable price is not the only standard consumption choice. The pursuit of furniture grade and the cultural value of furniture reflected decided people buying plan more and more. At present China furniture industry developed rapidly, but the design level is deficient, plagiarism prevailed, lack independent design brand, which has become the bottleneck of restricting our furniture development. Advocate the original design, development independent brand is an inevitable trend.The Nordic modern furniture design coquettish and is treasured in international design field, because of its unique natural and simple style, humanity idea, impersonal visual language. At present, domestic research in the Nordic furniture has also made a lot of achievements. This paper analyzes based on the modern furniture visual language, and refines and summers up inherent laws and methods from the design of the Nordic furniture. The deep researching visual language for the Nordic modern furniture design provides a set of learning and reference method for our furniture design. This paper analyzes the Nordic modern furniture based on this original intention.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part from the concept of visual language was presented. Briefly introduces the connotation and information communication mode of visual language. Expound furniture design of visual language expression is furniture form as the main media. Through furniture form, structure, material and color such as modeling elements in certain design principle and organizational form, constitute a specific semantic visual language, including furniture visual language symbols form and connotation. The second part in the Nordic furniture for the visual language form elements to analyze, enumerates composed the Nordic modern furniture basic form, structure, material, color and visual element that send out the modeling characteristics and semantics.The third part of the paper discusses the information expressed by the Nordic modern furniture form as visual language, including information about using level expression and to furniture connotation of expression. Use level of information mainly includes purpose of use, comfort, convenience and some semantic expression. Furniture connotation of expressions includes aesthetic semantic meaning and semantic and symbol semantic expression. The fourth part of the Nordic modern furniture design of visual language expression characteristics were summarized and analyzed, summarizes its Visual language of expression features, which pay attention to the people-oriented humanized design, pay attention to contracted modeling embodied delicate beauty, pays great attention to the traditional inheritance and modernity embodies, pay attention to environmental protection reflecting green design concept. Based on the development status of China furniture, talk inspiration of the Nordic modern furniture for our country furniture design development, and emphasize that we should learn western outstanding furniture design oriented to its inherent design rules and design expression method and not style simple imitation and plagiarism.In the conclusion , briefly summarize several visual language expression principles of the modern furniture design, including availability principle, aesthetic principles, economic principle and cultural principle.
