Design and synthesis of coordination compounds which with novel structure and particular characters base on the template of metal ions and organism ligands have been a hotspot in the field of coordination chemistry, supermolecule chemistry, crystal engineer across. Much attention has been paid to supermolecule compounds as their particular character in light, electricity, magnetism, fluorescent, catalyze, bacteriostasis.Eleven rare earth complexes and four transition metal coordination compounds have been synthesized base on 2-phenoxypropionic acid,1,10-phenanthroline monohydrate and 4,4'-bipyridine ligands, their structures and compositions were characterized by element analysis, IR, sing-crystal X-ray diffraction. The thermal properties were researched by TG-DTG and discussed; the fluorescent properties of four rare earth compounds were analyzed in solid state. The interaction between DNA and coordination compounds (5,9,14) were measured.(1) Eleven rare earth metal coordination compounds were synthesized base on 2-phenoxypropionic acid and phen ligands, all of which were single crystals. There were two kinds of coordination configuration. The compound 1~7 (correspond to La, Ce, Pr, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho) belong to monoclinic crystal system, with the same structure, they were allomerism. The central ions were nine-coordinated. The compounds 8~11 (correspond to Sm, Eu, Yb, Y) belong to triclinic crystal system, they were allomerism, too, the central ions were eight-coordinated. In the two kinds of configuration, phen ligands coordinated to the metal ions by chelate-bidentate. Their keleton symbol were [Ln (popa)3(phen)] (Ln=La, Ce, Pr, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Yb, Y).(2) Four transition metal coordination compounds base on 2-phenoxypropionic acid and bipy ligands have been synthesized, their structures were determinated by sing-crystal X-ray diffraction, all of them were polymers, their slceleton symbol were [Mn(popa)2(bipy)]n(12), [Co(popa)2(bipy)]n (13), [Ni(popa)2(H20)2(bipy)]n·2nH20 (14), [Zn(popa)2(bipy)]n-2nH20 (15), (bipy=4,4'-bipyridine). The compound (12) and the compound (13) were allomerism.(3) The fluorescent properties of four rare earth metal coordination compounds were measured by means of the fluorescent spectrometer. The results shown that the complex 5 and 7 have the stronger fluorescent intensity.(4) The interaction between DNA and three coordination compounds (5,9,12) were measured and analyzed by ethidium bromide fluorescent probe. The results shown that the binding ability of the coordination compounds obviously enhanced after the ligands were coordinated to the metal ions, the strong binding ability of the complexes may be that they containing the larger rigidty aromatic plane of benzene ring and 1,10-phenanthroline.
