Cinnamaldehyde is a typical kind ofα,β-unsaturated aldehyde and the productions of the cinnamaldehyde hydrogenation are widely used in fields of flavoring food and perfumes. So the selectivity hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde is a goal of considerable importance for both the scientific research and the practical significance. In this work, we synthesized composite metal oxide supported-gold catalysts through adjusting the ratios between sucrose and HAuCl4 under hydrothermal conditions and investigated their catalytic properties through the hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde. The researches are present as follows:1 The synthesis of the composite metal oxide supported-gold catalysts The formation of the support precursor involves two stages:nucleation and aging. The nuclear of the support is mixed with the reductant, under the process of the aging, HAuCl4 is added to the suspension colloid. The process of the reduction for HAuCl4 and the crystal growth proceed simultaneously, so the nanoparticles of gold are disperse on the support precursor uniformly. The composite metal oxide supported-gold catalysts are obtained after calcining the catalyst precursor. We study the effect on the catalytic performances of catalysts with the time of reduction, the ratios between sucrose and HAuCl4, the calcination temperature and the ratios of Mg/Al and obtain the optimum preparation conditions for the catalysts.2 The effect on the catalytic performances of catalysts through adjusting the composition of supportWe adjust the compositions of the supports through adding iron and cerium ions to the support and prepare a series of catalysts. The structure and morphology of catalysts are characterized by XRD, XPS, BET, TEM, HRTEM and EDS and investigate the effect of Ce and Fe on the catalyst. The catalytic performances of catalyst are studied by the hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde and explain the relationship between structure of catalyst and performance.3 The adjustment for the gold loading of the catalyst and the effect on the catalytic performances of catalystsA series of catalysts are synthesized with adjusting the loading of gold, and the structure and morphology of catalyst have been characterized in detail. We also study the catalytic performance of the catalyst and find that the catalyst with lower gold loading possesses the excellent catalytic performance, exploring the efficient utilization of gold.
