Realization Of Workflow Management Digitalization For Print Production

With the rapid development of Chinese printing industry, the production capacity of printing enterprise has been greatly improved. In order to further improve the production efficiency, printing enterprises need to establish a set of high quality, efficient digital workflow. For domestic small and medium-sized printing enterprises, the application of commercial digital printing process is difficult because of their backward equipment and lack of funds and professional and technical personnel. Considering the situation of their funds, equipments and personnel, they would like to build digital or semi-digital small-sized workflow suitable for their own requirementsAccording to the working principle of three active printing workflow in the printing market (Found ElecRoc, Agfa Apogee PDF and Creo Prinergy), a small-sized digital workflow based on JDF is designed. An information communication system with integrateimposing modelization, crawling and ink is studied also.The main principle of CIP3/4 and JDF of printing workflow is studied and the basic idea of the software design is given. The functions of the small-sized digital software includes:(1) Customers can submit orders, check production schedule and achieve real-time tracking. (2) The administrator can check the orders and design the working process. (3) The administrator can finish the design of imposing with the system and some softwares. A key problem in pre-printing workflow is analyzed. Imposing modelization is designed by using the imposing software. Crawling quantity is set according to the calculating method. The problem of ink still of the printing press without CIP3/4 is discussed. The task list is examined and pictures are downloaded with the workflow system. The distribution of ink is set with the ink still system and the ink key of the printing press is adjusted to set ink still.The operation of the system is analyzed. The digital workflow is checked by real cases. Customers submit orders and administrators examine orders and make the working process by logging in MIS. Pre-press staff calculates imposing modelization and crawling quantity and the printing machine operators set ink still and finally gets the production.
