Aramid fiber is of the high strength and modulus,high temperature resistance,good chemical corrosion-resistance,wearable,excellent dimensional stability,but it is a highly oriented micro-crystalline material, has some flaws and gaps, but there no amorphous zone. As the molecular chains in the large steric effect of phenyl amide group is more difficult with other atoms or groups play a role, the surface of aramid is lack of active functional groups.therefore,it's difficult to adhere to rubber.so we must be Pretreatment the fiber surface and to increase the active functional groups.research of the mechanisms of aramid to rubber bonding and interface between adhesion and rubber substrate,The methods of studying the interfacial bonding between aramid fiber and EPDM was intraduced,and the static bonding behavior in aramid fiber/EPDM composite was actually and evaluated using RISE method.In this paper, the following comparative study of different pretreatment aramid short fiber,different species,different dosage,different staple length,different fiber orientation and different degree of fiber orientation on the fiber-reinforced rubber composite mechanical properties:(1)The methods of studying the interfacial bonding between aramid fiber and EPDM was intraduced,and the static bonding behavior in aramid fiber/EPDM composite was actually and evaluated using RISE method.Research of the influence mechanics performance of different dosage aramid short fiber,different fiber orientation and different degree of fiber orientation,different aramid fiber staple length can not effect the RISE. but the different pretreatment aramid short fiber and the Adhesives will be influence the RISE.Comprehensive analysis that using RISE method is fully capable of scientific evaluation short fiber and matrix interfacial adhesion,meanwhile,textile reinforcing materials and rubber adhesive provides an important interface between the evaluation methods.(2)Aramid fiber surface after activation and RFL dip treatment can significantly improve the aramid short fiber enhanced performance of rubber,activated solution and RFL treatment solution of formula and heat treatment on the surface pretreatment of aramid short fiber adhesion activity of large,By experiments of this thesis research,to pre-aramid short fiber products used in automotive belts scientific application of basic industry.(3)Different varieties of the pretreatment of aramid fiber aramid short fiber reinforced EPDM vulcanizates greater impact tensile stress-strain behavior, especially between the pretreated aramid staple fiber and interfacial adhesion between the level of EPDM Significantly better than the pretreatment of aramid short fiber, which is heat-resistant rubber products industry provides a variety of new high temperature resistant staple fiber.(4)The higher degree of fiber orientation, aramid short fiber filled EPDM vulcanizate greater tensile strength, elongation at break lower; fiber orientation angle of aramid short fiber filled EPDM vulcanizate pull Great influence on mechanical properties of stretch, but the relative value of the interface slip can RISE little effect.
