1-naphthol and 2-naphthol are two kind of very important organic chemical raw materials, widely applied in production of dye intermediates and pharmaceutical intermediates, with increasing its output. Recently, the process technology of 2 - naphthol are improved, but still there are some disadvantage of complex process technology, the difficult sewage treatment. To solve these problems, an efficient,clean,high atom economy process of preparing 2-naphthol from isopropyl naphthalene is developed. In this thesis, a-and (3-isopropyl naphthalene isomer mixture, the products reaction of naphthalene with propylene, were ues as raw materials. process conditions of isomerization,oxidation,decomposition were investigated in detail. The conclusion based on experiment results are as follows:(1) HM zeolite modified by TEOS with chemical liquid deposition was used as catalyst to catalyze isomerization of a-IPN to prepare (3-IPN. The modified HM zeolites were analyzed by XRD spectra, specific surface area and surface acidity. Effects of deposition amount of Si(OC2H5)4, reaction temperature, liquid-hourly space velocity on a-isopropyl naphthalene conversion and concentration ofβ-isopropyl naphthalene were discussed. The results showed that framework structure after modification of HM molecular sieve was basically unchanged, and the appropriate operate condition were as follows: loading amount of Si(OC2H5)4 0.6g/mL, reaction temperature 290℃, liquid-hourly space velocity 1.0mL/min. For isomerization reaction, HM molecular sieve catalyst with Si(OC2H5)4 deposition 0.6g/mL had best performance, the reaction equilibrium constant and the standard enthalpy change were calculated.(2) In the second step, the product of the isomerization reaction which was the mixture of IPN isomers was oxidized to IPNHP in oxygen atmosphere. With Na2CO3 and NaOH as catalyst, and H2O2 and isobutyraldehyde as initiator. The effect of catalyst type, catalyst concentration, initiator type, reaction temperature on yield and selectivity of the target product IPNHP were investigated. IPNHP were qualitative and quantitative analyzed by chemical titration. The results showed that the reaction condition of reaction temperature 100℃, isobutyraldehyde as initiator, NaOH concentration 1.5%, the conversion was 26.59%, and the percentage of IPNHP in product was 19.23%.(3) The third step was acid decomposition of products from former step to naphthol and acetone. H2SO4,HC1O4,HCl were used as catalyst respectively, acetic acid AcO,methanol MeOH,dodecane DD,acetonitrile ACN were used as solvent. The effects of catalyst type and solvent type on reaction were investigated. According to the experiment results, the interaction between the catalyst and solvent was discussed.
