Nowadays, Consumers have more demands on product immateriality in furniture market.Emotional design as one of the social developing trends is becoming popular. And with thedesign track of history, we can find that it is a certainty to interject theme design into furnituredesign. This study concludes a research method about theme concept design, based on existingfurniture design theory, together with experience from design work. Methods such as literatureanalyses, observing, conclusion, logic discursion, PHC analyses, mind map and mood board areused. Among them, the theme is auxiliary; core is still product analysis research.Part1, pick up theme conceptPick up themes after analyzing life style of design object. Choosing the certain theme, wecan use mind map to emit more detail content, and put them to three different parts-visioncollection, emotion collection and object collection. Products and scene building are togetherused to express theme concept. In product design, we can learn from mature design methodsand trend research. We take use of mood board to build scene.Part2, product analysesBased on existing theory and working experience to summarize related product characters.Then observe that how people using products, so as to find three demands, including necessary,definitude and concealed. Put these demands to design necessary condition, and finally toconcept design elements.This study takes teenage furniture as example to check the theme concept design method.Analyzing life style of teenage, then we can get eight themes, including youth, trend culture,family, etc. One of themes is chosen as product and atmosphere expression. It`s cool. Focus oninner demand in product. And the scenery has two feelings, that`s cool-movie and cool-sport. Itis proved that the research method is logical and can be actualized. Furniture design thereby canhave more expressions. |
