The CAE technology of sheet metal forming has been wildly applied in automobile panels stamping analysis. The application of The traditional CAE software which has many shorts such as hard to learn , expensive and existing data exchange with the CAD software ect. was limited in China . So it is necessary to develop a CAE system seamless integrated on CAD platform.The paper is supported by Chinese NC special projects"Stamping Dies of the whole body side panels, fenders and interiors of new environmentally friendly materials in C-Class car"(No.2009ZX04013-031) and National Nature Science Foundation of China project " Research on Fast numerical analysis model and key methods in the strip layout of Progressive die design for complicated Automotive Structural Parts"(No.50905067). A CAD/CAE seamless system named CATIA/Multi_process Synchronous Simulation based on CATIA platform was developed in this paper.Through in-depth study and compare the way and princeples of the CATIA secondary development, the paper ultimatelly chose the CAA component-based application architecture development methodology which has high independence and scalability. Aiming at the situation that the design and analysis of the auto panels were separated, the"interface type"association between CAD design model and CAE analysis model was implemented through the"Publication"command in CATIA, Thus the synchronous simulation concept and its'realization were proposed, moreover, the feasibility and effectiveness of this theory was verified by an example.The system was divied in some functional modules based on synchronous technology through in-depth research on auto panel stamping process characteristics. Moreover, the system framework which took full advantage of the CATIA assembly tree and the attribuet storage techology was designed under five levels.Adopted to the MVC design pattern in CATIA, The interface and data design were completed. Moreover, some technical problems including mesh generation, variable cross-section equivalend drawbead, process templates and process manager ect. were perfectly solved , thanks to the resources provided by CAA especially the CGM module, state dialog command and non-feature object display.The system which considered the real conditions was able to simulate the whole stamping process including drawing, forming,trimming,flanging and springback prediction ect. Moreover ,the system achieved the synchroniazaiton of design and analysis for its full integration in CATIA platform. At last, the accuracy and effectiveness of the system was demonstrated by the comparsion of the simulation results and experimental results of the auto B pillar and auto body side outer panels.
