In our country, the manufacturing of pencil always lies a stage of extensive. Compared with international advanced technology, the automation of the equipment is not advanced, and the quality of the products is very poor. The most important equipment of pencil manufacturing is the wooden penholder molding tool which decides the quality of penholder, efficiency and costs.Based on the science research project of the development of cutting tool with high performance for wooden pencils processing of Weihai. This article aims to solve the bottleneck of our wooden pencils production equipment through the scientific research and technical innovations. This article will solve the problem of low performance of refiltubes cutting tool and low efficiency of production technology which current pen-making industries generally faced from the fundamental, consequently enhance the efficiency and the product quality of the pen production enterprise. The results will bring great benefits in pen-making industries and the whole woodworking machinery industry.Wood cutting process is very complex. This paper based on the study of wood cutting principle and tool principle, integrated the theory of traditional experience and modern analysis methods, put forward three basic assumptions of the mechanical properties of wood, put forward the theory analysis and experience formula method of the cutting force calculation of wood, and design the cutting force test and verified the accuracy of the two methods. This article made the qualitative analysis of the temperature field distribution and the former surface temperature of the tool according to the temperature field analytical method, and deduced the temperature field distribution of the static continuous surface heat source on the half infinite object accord with actual situation of wood-cutting.We built the three-dimensional entity model of the tool used Pro/E, simulated the stress field and temperature field distribution of the tool used ANSYS, and got the nephogram of the stress, deformation and temperature distribution, provided support of geometric parameters optimization. We analysed the effect of the factors which affect the stress and temperature field distribution of the tools. We completed the geometrical parameter optimization and got the best parameters range of tool design and some useful valid conclusions which can used in engineering according to a series of simulation experiments.
