During the municipal wastewater biological treatment process, a large number of biological sludge will be produced,with the removal of pollutants.The biological sludge will endanger public health,imperil drinking water and jeopard living environment directly or indirectly if that is not managed appropriately.However,Sewage treatment plant can not dispose the sludge properly in most cases because of the expense of the equipment.Therefore the research and development for Sludge minimization gets more attention.There are some sludge treatments for sludge reduction,including the research on the growth of microbial cell lysis stealth technology. The other one is based on the bacterial metabolic uncoupling synthesis technology.Beside them micro-fauna predation also can reduce sewage sludge.The maintaining the metabolism of sludge can reduce activated sludge,too.So we choose Tubificidae as the predator for a new Sessile Worm Reactor.In this paper, we select the most appropriate combination of technology developed biological treatment technology between SBR and MBR,and find out the effect of sludge and wastewater treatment performance of the combined process.In this study, the diffenent sludge reduction rate was been analysed.The better sludge reduction rate can be obtained from MBR. And the water quality including ammonia nitrogen and COD increased distinctively.In the meantime,the performance of sludge settlement, and the stability of sludge character had been improved.Considering all aspects,select MBR as the biological treatment process of the combined process.We run the MBR-Sessile Worm Reactor Combined Process. And the Sludge reduction effect is obvious.The performance of wastewater treatment process was also favorable. And the reduction rate of COD can be reached 94%,well the reduction rate of ammonia nitrogen can be reached 85%.And the results also proved that the combined process can reduced the rate of sugar and protein.Besides, the performance of sludge settlement and the stability of sludge character had been improved.Fouling of MBR is also improved.According to all above, the MBR-Sessile Worm Reactor Combined Process has a wide application prospect for the high sludge reduction rate and can treat waste water and sewage sludge in the same time. Its application in practical engineering has great potential to developet.
