Abstract/Summary:
With the wide application of light metals and the rapid development of china's aerospace industry, friction stir welding has become an important direction of welding development and an important tool in the field of aerospace. However, there are many defects in the research of friction stir welding in china. There is less research for friction stir welding simulation, especially for the simulation of the temperature field of friction stir welding. In this research, I model and simulate the temperature field of friction stir welding by using software COMSOL Multiphysics. This study focuses on the research and analysis of the welding parameters. It achieves a comprehensive analysis of the temperature field of friction stir welding.First, this study makes a theoretical analysis of the thermal model of friction stir welding. Then it reasonably simplifies the model. After a series of simulations on three important welding parameters, I find out the influence of these three welding parameters on the temperature field of friction stir welding and find out the optimal combination of these three welding parameters. Finally, microstructure observation and characterization have been done in order to deepen understanding of friction stir welding.Through the simulation of the thermal model, I find that the downside heat transfer coefficient has a great influence on the temperature gradient of friction stir welding. The friction coefficient and normal force have a great influence on the heat resource. Through microstructure observation and characterization, I succeed to lay out the transition region among these three main regions of the weld and succeed to find out the boundary of this transition on the surface. This achievement provides a solid foundation for the future study of simulation of temperature field of friction stir welding and for the improvement of method process.
