| The cellulose-based oil-absorbing resin keep the fiber morphology well, having good oil absorbency capability and degradability, reducing the chance of using organic matter, at the same time they protect the ecological environment. And the raw materials of them are abundant .Therefore, the study about this aspect arouse great attention from investigators. We made oil-absorbing resin through making ethyl methacrylate(EMA) graft onto the bleached hardwood fiber, characterizing them by the ways of FTIR,SEM and so on. The specific results show that:1. EMA can successfully graft onto the cellulose fiber in the Fe2+-H2O2 redox system using Thiourea as the third component, producing high oil-absorbing resin.2. The dosage of initiator H2O2 has remarkable effect on the grafting reaction, when there are no initiators, the reaction does not happen. Too much or too little initiator does no good to the reaction; Adding Thiourea to the reaction system greatly improves the grafting effect, however, too much TD goes against the grafting effect, the grafting rate and the monomer conversion rate drop obviously.3. Take the grafting rate,the grafting efficiency and the monomer conversion rate into consideration, when the fiber dosage is 4g,the dosage of H2O2 is 0.02g, the dosage of TD is 0.5g, EMA8g, distilled water 150ml,the temperature is 50℃, reacting for one hour, the grafting effect performance is well and the grafting efficiency is about 90 percent.4. The optimum process conditions of producing oil-absorbing resin made of EMA and the fiber are: the fiber dosage 4g, the dosage of EMA 6g, H2O20.02g, TD0.5g, distilled water 150ml, the cross-linkers0.15g, reacting for one hour at 53℃. And oil absorption ratio is 15.0 g/g.5. XRD results show that, the crystal percent descends; TG result show that the graft reaction has effect on the heat stability. From the comparison of the FTIR spectrums of the materials and the products, we find that at the 1730 cm-1, more carbonyl groups appear in the product; observing and analyzing SEM prove that:the surfaces of raw fiber are flat and smooth, while the fiber reacted show more crack surfaces and more holes and the protuberance performance is obvious with a lot of granular products on their surface. All these characterization performances fully prove the occurrence of the grafting reaction.6. The study of the reaction kinetics shows:when the concentration of initiator is at a low level, the speed of the primary reaction and the concentration of reagent is: R=K[M]1.18[TD]0.515[H2O2]0.496, and at this condition, the principal way of reaction termination is double-base termination, so it testify the mechanism of radical reactions well. |
