With the development of science and technology and the progress of society, environmental protection has become an important subject areas throughout the world, mineral-based oil products are facing serious challenges of environmental requirements due to poor biodegradability. Since the 90s of last century, environmentally friendly lubricants become rapidly developing field of research focus. The lubricating oil mostly constitutes by the base oil and the chemical additive, the base oil is the key component of lubricating oil, which is the determining factor to influence environment or the ecology, As the use of mineral-based lubricant superior performance, low cost, is still occupy a dominant market position, adding the biodegradation promoting agent to mineral base oil, to ensure that it has excellent lubrication properties, while improving its biodegradation is the original intention of this article.In this paper, four types of biodegradable imidazoline surfactants were designed and synthesized from easily degradable long-chain fatty acid and ethylenediamine derivatives, the structure of additives were characterized by Infrared spectrum. The tribology capability, thermal stability, corrosion resistance and the rust preventive ability of imidazoline surfactants were investigated by four-ball machine, thermogravimetric analyzer, lube oil copper strip corrosion experiment and antirust test. Besides, the friction-reducing and anti- wear mechanisms were reseached by Scanning Electronic Microscopy(SEM) and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy(XPS), investigated the synthesis of imidazoline-based additives on the biodegradability of mineral oil and additive effects of the complex with the performance of ZDDP.The results show that there is imidazolelin link structure in the additives through the analysis of infrared spectrum and achieves the expectation, Four kind of imidazolelin chemical additives own good oil-soluble in the dosage range of 2.5%, The thermostability test result indicated that it has good thermostability, And with the substitutability of 1.0% to add in liquid paraffin can significantly improve its corrosion resistance and anti-corrosion properties, the antifriction and anti-wear properties of liquid paraffin can be improved significantly while add a appropriate additives, the scanning electron microscope and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis shows that the additives in friction surface may formed good adsorption membrane, which has anti-wear capability, At the same time, the chemical additive also has a very big promotion to the whiteruss base oil's biodegradation, duplicate matches after ZDDP also displays good coordination synergized action, and is one kind of latent environment friendly oil dope.
